Cuticles: Soaking fingers in warm soapy water will make cuticles soft and pliable. Use a nail stick, or cuticle pusher to push off nails and into a square shape. When cutting cuticles never cut live skin as this will make cuticles tough and could lead to infection. Pushing cuticles off nails helps promote healthy nail growth.

Nails: always cut nails when wet, or after soaking, this will give a smoother cut and help prevent cracking and splitting. HOWEVER, always use nail files, salon boards and buffers on DRY nails and never file or cut nails to a point, this will weaken the nails.

Hands Tips

To reduce pain and redness when tweezing always apply a warm washcloth to the area to open pores. Hold the skin tight and pull the hair out in the direction of growth. Trick: some experts say to apply a dab of over the counter eye drops to red areas to reduce the redness

Brows should never be more than an inch and a half apart so be careful when tweezing in the middle. Bringing your brows a bit closer can actually make your eyes look bigger and nose appear smaller! Don’t panic if you’ve over-plucked, just leave the area alone and allow the hair to grow back. In the meantime, fill in any gaps with a brow pencil and set in place with a brow powder.

Trying to get that wide-eyed look? The first thing you should do is curl those lashes! Next, apply a white or flesh-colored pencil on the inside rim of your eye, which makes the whites of your eyes appear brighter and larger. Be sure to always wipe the tip of your pencil with a tissue after sharpening to rid of any splinters before applying to your eye.

Trick: After curling lashes, make sure to always set the curl with a few coats of mascara.
