Corporate Social Responsibility at Bassett Brands
At Bassett Brands we are committed to developing sustainable strategies to enhance our corporate (CSR) activities. To this end we have established a corporate Planning Group to spearhead and implement objectives in four key areas.

  1. The Environment
  2. Employees and Community
  3. Health and Safety
  4. Supply Chain Management

The Environment – Reducing our Carbon Foot Print
Over the last few years we have focused strategies on how the production of our products and the disposal of packaging impact the planet and the resources needed to produce them.

In 2008 we completely rewired our headquarters to a motion detector lighting system which auto shuts down lights when no one is in a room which decreased our use of energy.

In 2009 we made several major changes to our packaging. First we made the physical size of the cardboard packaging smaller saving on the production and waste disposal. We also changed our “Blister” production from PVC to recycled RPETG. This has a positive environmental impact both at production and disposal.

During 2010 we introduced E-Trim, beauty tools made from recycled material. For example our new tweezers and skin care tools are made from recycled aluminum.

During 2010 we have also initiated recycling efforts that will cut our waste production by over 45% in our facilities.

A side benefit to our “Green” has been cost savings which help us maintain low pricing for our customers

Employees & Community
Our employees, worldwide are treated with dignity and respect. The work they perform is to produce quality beauty tools at an affordable price. To that end when we make a profit, every employee shares in those profits over and above agreed salaries. Every employee is also eligible to participate in a group health insurance plan for themselves and their family.

Bassett Brands support both local and national organizations that work for the improvement of our communities including but not limited to:

United Way – we hold company wide fund raisers thru-out the year.

Birmingham Group – which provides mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence services. Marquis Sponsor in the Bowl-to-Benefit.

Health and Safety
Bassett Brands is committed to protecting it’s customers, employees, suppliers and general public by providing a safe and healthy working environment. We have established multi-disciplined committees to ensure all employees strive to exceed our goals in this area.

Supply Chain Management
In 2009 Bassett Brands qualified for ISO 9000 certification. This assures the highest quality standards in our industry.

Bassett Brands requires all suppliers wherever located, to meet local legal requirements relating to the environment, human rights and other regulatory work practices. We also notify all vendors of our policies and reserve the right to make unannounced visits to their facilities to ensure compliance with our CSR responsibilities.

At Bassett Brands we realize our corporate responsibilities and strive for improvement daily.
